  1. Discussion of the reasons for being referred
  2. Construction of a pedigree and taking a complete personal and family medical history
  3. Risk assessment for occurrence or recurrence of a particular genetic disorder
  4. Provision and interpretation of information about the particular genetic disorder
  5. Explanation of available genetic testing as well as surveillance and treatment options
  6. Provision of supportive counseling
  7. Referrals to other medical, health and support services
